OTHER LOCAL CLUBS
Compare our "Select Team" club fees ($650/player/season) to the $3,000 yearly fee for 10 year olds (without uniforms so add $250 plus $50 for a practice jersey) just announced by the local "Amazon" club for the 2020/2021 season. You're talking $3,300/player for one year!
I don't know about you but REALLY!! I don't care what team you are playing for -- blue, green, red, yellow or polka dot -- that is crazy.
It is absolute nonsense to think if you are paying more money for youth soccer coaching it is better. DCYFC youth coaches are former players, mature and experienced coaches, teachers, professionals, understand youth soccer development, have applied knowledge in advanced training methods and have life skills beyond the soccer pitch to educate young and impressionable minds about what the game means inside and outside the lines.
If for no other reason, check out DCYFC. It's the way soccer should be played at the youth level.
In fact, other organizations are charging up to $5,000 per year.
With 99.9% probability, there is not a single professional soccer player in the world today that payed $3,000-$4,000 per year to play youth soccer.
Plus other clubs may charge you for an extra practice, do not provide kits, play in in-house club leagues and often charge additional fees for winter training.
In fact, many of the largest clubs and companies in the area do not post the per player "select" team fee. Would you buy a product or service that doesn't specify the cost and what it includes?
Paying this amount of money to play soccer is truly incredible. Throughout the world soccer is the most popular sport because all you need is a ball, a flat space and anything to masquerade as a goal. Come to Brazil with us and you will see where the best soccer players in the world live and play. The boys and girls often play without shoes and substitute players need to share with players coming off the field.
We offer excellent technical skill development and tactical instruction from experienced and highly successful youth coaches. This is what it is about. Our coaches have life experiences along with a soccer pedigree. It's not about former college soccer players as coaches -- it's about understanding the game, understanding kids and having a diverse, multi-cultural experience.
Instead of paying the incremental $1,500-$2,000+ player fee, you are better off investing this annual savings for 10 years. At a 7% annual return on your investment, this would yield around $30,000. A tidy college fund sum which is infinitely more likely to occur than playing collegiate soccer. The odds of going on to play collegiate soccer after playing youth soccer are significantly greater than the 5000:1 odds that Leicester City won the 2015/16 English Premier League! In fact, the odds of playing collegiate soccer after competing in NCSL or CCL is greater than Leicester City winning the title.
DCYFC has a true nonprofit management philosophy. Coaches place player development above monetary reward and their willingness to treat the program as a commitment to improving boys and girls soccer in the Washington DC area.
It is not and has never been about the Soccer Industrial Complex. If so, we could raise our fees to meet the current going rate for playing "select" travel soccer.
Instead, our fees have been steady for three years including the upcoming Spring 2021 season!
