DCYFC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Executive Director
Joao Brusamolin
Joao is the new Executive Director of the DC Youth Futbol Club (AKA: District Elite Football Club). Joao worked as the Director of Operations for several years. He has now assumed day to day executive director responsibilities for the club. Joao played competitive soccer in Brazil and Ireland before arriving in the U.S. to become the starting goalkeeper for the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds. After completing his degree in Electrical Engineering, he went on to receive a Masters in Business from Catholic University and the Assistant Coach. After 4 years, Joao moved to become the Assistant Coach at UDC.
Treasurer
Mitch Dubensky
Mitch was the Founder of both DCYFC and First Touch Soccer. He moved to DC in 1984 and has lived in American University Park since 1990. He holds a USSF National "Youth" coaching license, a USSF National "C" coaching license and holds a USSF Referee certification. Though he has stepped down as DCYFC President, he has taken on more of the DCYFC "back room" operations. But he will still provide soccer coaching, practices and game support for DCYFC and continue to operate the First Touch Soccer camps and clinics.
Secretary
Raphael Pacano
Rafa, as he is known, is a Brazilian-American, raised in North Potomac, played on the Junior College team that won a National Championship and later transferred to UDC where he was Joao's teammate. Rafa had professional-level speed and quickness, terrific finishing abilities and played with a UPSL team in California before returning to the DC area.
Board Member-At-Large
Gabriel Xavier Torres
Gabi, as he is better known, was also a standout performer with UDC. He was selected to all conference teams in college and went on to play with USL franchises in Hartford, Oklahoma and Phoenix -- the latter team having won the 2023 National Championship. A natural scorer in college, he converted to a wing back position at the professional level. Given the different technical and physical skills needed to make this transition, it's a testament to his overall quality as a superior baller.
