SUMMER 2020: BRAZIL-STYLE CAMP
Week of June 22
Week of June 29
8:30am to 5:00pm
UPPER NW DC LOCATION
We'll have further information on conducting camps on June 8 when DC government announces new guidelines.
SPRING 2020 SEASON STATUS
As a result of the World Health Organization declaration of a global pandemic caused by the Covid19 coronavirus and the resulting decision by the DC government to suspend permits for all athletic fields till June 8, the formal DCYFC Select Team practices and the
DCYFC Development Program are cancelled until then.
It's a very unfortunate situation but a necessary precaution to protect the healthy, safety and welfare of us all.
We'll have updates on field availability and potential to use fields as information becomes available.
Meantime, stay safe and listen to the Centers for Disease Control and your medical professionals.

ANNOUNCEMENT: SPRING 2020 FEES
The DCYFC preference is to roll over "Select" and "Development" player fees to Fall 2020. Other options include applying a credit for participation in the June Brazil or August Summer Camp(s) or issue a refund for the season if you decide not to play in Fall 2020.
The only DMV league to not cancel the Spring 2020 season is the Elite Development Program (EDP). DCYFC entered 6 of it's 15 "select premier" teams into EDP.
Further details will be provided once we find out more.
Thanks for your understanding.
TRYOUTS: FALL 2020 TEAMS
To Be Announced
If interested in discussing DCYFC opportunities for Fall 2020 Select Teams (or if ready to join a team now) don't hesitate to reach out to us.
As soon as the DC government announces parks and athletic fields have reopened, DCYFC will begin tryouts.
If you are seeking an improved soccer experience based on the latest training and development ideas, read about our soccer training philosophy at the following link:
In the meantime, if you want to improve your touch and play for a DCYFC Select Team, practice your juggling (both feet), hit a ball against a wall and control rebound (the first touch is to a space and second touch is pass back against the wall - both feet), kick the ball over your head, let it bounce once and kick it back over your head, let it bounce once and repeat, dribble the ball on your head 10x.
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE TRAINING
Proper youth soccer training is the key to player development. One or two kids with athleticism in 7v7 can win your team matches in the early years. But what will eventually set the outstanding teams and impact players apart from the rest is the technical ball control, receiving, passing, dribbling, shooting, the tactical decision-making and the mental toughness to compete at a higher level.
"We have tried a few different soccer clubs for our boys here in DC and this is by far the best one. The coaches really engage with and teach the kids skills and rules of the game. We are definitely sticking with it"
Gudrun Gunnarsdottir, former Captain of NCAA Champions Notre Dame and Iceland National Women's Soccer Team
"I truly feel like she got more hands on coaching with you then she ever has at (local club "travel" team)"
"I think she got more out of the 30 minutes you spent with her than all last year with (local club "travel" team)"
-- Parents of two 10 year olds
After spending a couple years with DCYFC, two players were selected to play for the Washington Spirit Academy and a few boys decided to play with big local academy clubs after playing with us for many years.
NO MONEY, NO JERSEY, NO PROBLEM
Below is the type of field where the best footballers in the world grew up playing. It's not about the field, the boots, the haircut, the goal celebration. It's about the passion, commitment and grit to play the beautiful game.
